Due to the natural state of the wood each stand is unique (may have minimal natural pits, defects etc.).
Orientaion of the brass rod depends on the location of the Plateau ( Brass may be on left or right side of the natural edge).
Size will vary slightly as well as width
 
Stand comes unassembled. All you need to do is push the brass stem into the base by holding the stem, not the rubber coated holder. It may help to gently twist the base as you push.
